Children's privacy notice
What we collect, why, and who sees it
Notice version 2026-10-12-accepted-v3. Every item the children's privacy rule requires is here; if the wording changes, the version changes and you are asked again.
- What we collected to send you this. Your email address, so we could send a sign-in link. If you do not finish consenting within 14 days, we delete it.
- Your consent is required. We collect nothing from your student until you, the parent or guardian, consent. The card step is how we verify that the consent comes from a parent: we charge one dollar and refund it right away, so your card issuer notifies you of the transaction. We ask about your student only after that step.
- What we collect from your student, and why. A first name, birth month and year, and grade (to set how the tutor talks and to meet children's privacy law); what your student types and photographs for help (to tutor); practice answers, quiz results, and reading and typing rates (to place your student on the map and adjust the tutor); the tutor's replies and your weekly letter.
- Who else receives it. Anthropic, the AI model provider, receives the text and images your student sends for help, so the tutor can respond; it does not receive your student's name, and it may not train on what it receives. Our database host, email provider, and payment processor receive what their jobs require: the database host stores all of it, the email provider sees your email address and the weekly letter, the payment processor sees your card and email and never your student's information. We do not sell student information, show advertising, or let anyone read conversations without your opt-in. You may consent to collection without consenting to any disclosure that is not integral to the service.
- The full notice. This page is the online notice: it lists the operator, every category of recipient, the retention schedule, and how to review and delete your student's information.
- How to consent. Check the consent box, then verify a card with the one-dollar charge we refund. That charge is the method; it is not a purchase, and nothing is billed until you choose a plan after the trial.
- If you do not consent. We delete your email and anything entered during signup within 14 days.
Operator. AcerLogic Educational Services, LLC, 5844 Bay Point Drive, Lake Oswego, OR 97035. Telephone (800) 518-0760. Email hello@acerlogic.com.
Retention. Student transcripts twelve months, uploads thirty days, consent records 3 years after the account closes. Your rights. From your account page you can review and export everything we hold about your student, revoke consent, delete your student's information, or close the account; each is confirmed by email and completed within fifteen days, and revoking is as easy as consenting was.
